Our Hybrid Training Approach – Discover our way of working

Fed up with spending money on trainings that have no impact? A number of big names in the industry were struggling with the same thing. So they did research into the reasons why some trainings seemed to have such a low return on investment – and found out that it was mainly ‘soft skills’ training that had the lowest impact.

Classroom training can help you to understand new concepts, but it is not enough to effectively change behaviour. What if someone is afraid to give feedback – afraid to hurt someone? Or focused on other things? What if someone is (in theory) prepared to listen to others, but gets easily offended by different opinions?

So what is the solution? Combining training with other approaches that help the trainee to integrate what they have learned into their behaviour.

We do this with a combination of guided self-reflection, individual coaching and the involvement of the manager or an internal mentor. This allows the trainee to translate the new insights into action, and it creates a dynamic that makes it easier for the learning to continue after the training stops.

The role of the internal mentor

As manager/mentor of the trainee, you will be involved throughout the process. Before the training starts, we will organize an intake meeting with you to clarify the development needs of the trainee(s). We take you through the content behind the scenes. At the end of the training, we organize a handover meeting, in which the trainee shares what they have learned, presents a proposal on how they would like to continue their development & how you can help them in that

6 Training sessions

The training sessions are focused on acquiring new knowledge and insights: ‘the traditional learning’ with a little extra. We don’t just give you a toolbox, we also dig into the why, what and how of these new skills, and we zoom in on concrete examples from the participants, so we can show you how the new tools could be applied in your working environment. We make things as concrete & practical as possible.

6 Coaching sessions

The coaching sessions that follow each training session are designed to be both a mirror and a sounding board. Mirror: we give you insights into your own attitude, and how this can help or hinder you in applying what you have learned Sounding Board: when you start experimenting with what you have learned, you will encounter challenges - something that seemed simple can be a bit more complex. Your coach will help you understand what happened, and what you can learn from it.
